my paper underwear

paper and thread, 5 cm red stitched across

Have been making some paper experiments, sketches. This is one of them, made two Saturdays ago. A rough sketch, carelessly torn and sewn together, rather crappy looking. I don't know why i like it so much. Hung it by the window like it is magically suspended in the air! I like looking at it like that. Want to make more paper underwear and prints.

A print made the following day. Five Dirty Panties below:

thread and chine colle, about 3.5 cm each little panties, work in progress

I need to work on it some more. maybe some pencil drawing on top.

  4. hi Mien! so lovely to see some new work of yours, I hadn't been seeing anything of you when I'd occasionally go on flickr (I am amazed that for a time I was so diligent in keeping up with all this, and you for so much longer). I hope that you are well.
I really love the underwear I have to say, especially hanging by the window, I guess something about the transparency and delicacy of underthings, and also something awkward.
Funny how it feels like I'm meeting an old friend - finding your comment when I opened my email made me smile. thank you

  6. So funny! And touching. Love the way it's almost translucent in the light. Made me remember the bra for a giantess I started crocheting last year, needs to be finished so her breasts don't hang hang hang.

  10. Maybe it's just a continuation of the "Love Story," nobody looks at this from the mundane side, your dirty underwear:-)

  12. thank you for your lovely words, Mien, they mean a lot to me. I know you know about silences, too.

there is something ethereal about these panties, I can almost picture the sylphid wearing them :-)
but how did you get this idea? it would be interesting to know...

  13. okay, i admit it. i think these are beautiful and also a teeny bit disturbing. i'm not sure why. connotations all about undies....? hmmm, i don't know. the fact that you can see through them? hmmmm, i still don't know. haunting, tho. i'm gonna think on this one!!! xoxoxox

  14. It's the detail of the reinforced...oh what shall we call it. "crotch" is so vulgar. Love it.

  17. Love the light on these paper panties and that thin red line of the gusset, a warning and a plea.
The spooning couple linked together and trying to decide if they like it. The string has an end but would they leave it? Their skin so tender clean.

What's turning your thoughts so strongly to intimates lately?

  19. Reminds me of my summer in Beijing, where I would see my next door neighbor's panties hanging in the window just about every day...
