etching, drypoint & mezzotint on arches printmaking paper (cream color), image size 36 x 41 cm on 56 x 66 cm paper size

back of print showing the impression of the little plates printed together.

  1. Wow, this is beautiful. Are they seperate plates or all one big one?

  2. thanks, Sarah. it was worked on as one big plate and then cut up and printed as separate little plates on paper. i forgot to scan the back of the print to show it. maybe later.

  3. I love this mien! I also really love the back - is it hung in a frame, so that the back is usually hidden?
I'm not usually a big fan of using traditional frames with glass, but hard to think of another way to protect stuff on paper. I love paper so much too, but I guess I've been using less of it, for practical purposes (I have a feeling that's a bad reason too, that maybe art doesn't benefit from being practical or something).
