oh she's a beautiful thing. with her cut hair nest blacker than black obsessive daughter and her little brown belly button a mouth, deep desire to feed another.
glad to see you and your spoons again. missed you.
the way you spelled (made a spell over your creation

. lovely. .
Came over to wish you a wonderful year and also to say of Anne Carson, I am still just in awe of her language skill, her turns of phrase are stunning.
I "read" The Beauty of the Husband. It is a bit ironic towards the husband, but the language is still the power, the little quiet moments feel tremendous and the entire large context of the book as a whole seems less meaningful to me. I eat the small quiet phrases.
Can't say with Carson that i have "read" in the sense of having taken in an entire book because the small sense of things are so alive, the book disappears in a sense and i feel they are still there to be read, discovered, known.
. Your work speaks at that little powerful pivotal place where whispers must be heard by heart's yearning for something so close to pure presence... to witness again the bounty of what is all around through the particular. .
Wishing you a happy year ahead. Saw your paper eggs on Marion's blog today, beautiful. I appreciate the skill having tried to paper egges before painting and drawing on them. They were so lumpy, yours are so smooth, as if they grew that way.
Feel double sadness here, the hair nest holding spoon holding nothing. The cupped hand holding spoon holding nothing. Waiting. The stain with a little hole touches me too (the punctum!), something might have disappeared through there. Glad it left a trace. Would like to curl up somewhere soft, painful limbs, wondering if hair nest would be scratchy?

ReplyDeleteThese pieces are absolutely beautiful.
